Nuptial Blessing & Communion Rite

NUPTIAL BLESSING

Priest:  My dear brothers and sisters, let us pray for LIAM and GRACE who come to God's altar at the beginning for their married life, so that they may always be united in love for each other.

Holy Father, Creator of the universe, maker of one man and one women in your own likeness, source of blessing for married life, we humbly pray to You for this woman, who today is united with her husband in this sacrament of marriage.  May Your fullest blessings come upon her and her husband, so that they may together rejoice in Your gift of married life and enrich Your Church with their children.

Lord, may they both praise You when they are happy and turn to You in their sorrow.  May they be glad that You help them in their work and know that  You are with them in their need.  May they pray to You in the community of the Church, and be Your witness in the world.  May they reach old age in the company of their friends and come at last to the Kingdom of heaven.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.

All:  Amen.

COMMUNION RITE

Priest:  Lord Jesus Christ, You said to you apostles, I leave you peace, My peace I give you.  Look not on our sins, but on the faith of Your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of Your Kingdom, where You live forever and ever.

All:  Amen.

Priest:  The peace of the Lord be with you always.

All:  And with you Spirit.

Priest:  Let us offer each other the sign of peace.

LAMB OF GOD (to be sung)

Commentator:  Please all kneel.

Priest:  This is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.  Happy are those who are called to His banquet.

All:  Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Commentator:  You are now invited to receive Jesus in Holy Communion:

HOLY COMMUNION

PRAYER AFTER HOLY COMMUNION

Commentator:  May I request the cord and veil sponsors to remove the respective symbols.

Priest:  Let us pray.  Lord, in your love, You have given us this Eucharist to unite us with one another and with you.  As you have made LIAM and GRACE one in this sacrament of marriage and in the sharing of the one bread and the one cup, so now make them one in love for each other.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.

All:  Amen.

Priest:  to read the PAPAL BLESSING
